The International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda was created by the UN Security Council after the 1994 genocide, which left about 800.000 Tutsi's and moderate Hutu's dead.The court was created to contribute to the proces of national reconciliation in Rwanda, and to maintain peace in the region, and to see to it that people who committed genocide and other crimes will be punished.
