16th Meeting of the Parties to CITES -
CITES convenes for its 16th meeting

The 16th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP 16) to the Convention in International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) covenes.


The agenda of the meeting includes administrative, strategic and financial issues.


Also known as the Washington Convention, the treaty was adopted on 3 March 1973 and celebrates 40 years of existence, which will be marked during the conference.
