Iceland: End of Whaling Season 2013 -
Wikipedia-Cornellrockey
The Iceland whaling season runs from April 1 until August 31. Together with Norway, they are the only countries who are party to the International Convention for the Regulation of Whaling, who ignore the commercial whaling morratorium, and still hand out permits. In Iceland, 2011, it is permitted to hunt and kill up to 250 whales during the season.
