Football player David Beckham brings the Olympic Flame from Greece to the UK.
The player of Los Angeles Galaxy and former captain of the English national football team was a member of the delegation that helped London secure the Olympic Summer Games for 2012.
Beckham will carry the flame on the flight from Athens in a gold painted Airbus 319 of British Airways, the official partner of the Olympic Games in London 2012.
The Airbus will arrive at the Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Culdrose in Cornwall, home to most of the Navy’s Merlin and Sea King helicopter squadrons, to acknowledge the importance of maritime and coastal search and rescue services to the UK.
The landing area is close to the start point of the Torch Relay at Land's End in Cornwall. Around 1000 guests, media and members of the local community are invited to welcome the Olympic Flame.
