The opening ceremony of London 2012 Olympic games takes place at the Wembley Stadium. It marks the beginning of the XXXth Olympiad.
The ceremony commences with receiving the Head of State of the host country and then it continues with the parade of the athletes and speeches.
At that point, the Head of State is to declare the beginning of the Olympic games, which is to be followed by the Olympic anthem and the rise of the Olympic flag.
At the end of the ritual, participating athlete, coach and judge take an oath, vowing to compete and judge according to the rules of their sport. The Olympic torch is then lit.
Delegates from 100 different countries as well as 60,000 visitors at the stadium and hundreds of millions of viewers behind the screens are expected to be watching the ceremony.
