In the first week of December the Irish government publishes next year's budget and presents it to the parliament for approval, typically in a ceremonial fashion.
The annual statement to the Dáil, the lower house of the parliament, by the Minister for Finance sets out the budgetary targets for the following year and consists of the following:
- a Financial Statement to the Dáil
- Budgetary Measures (a list of budgetary changes detailing the cost/yield of same)
- Budget Statistics and Tables
- Various financial resolutions.
