George Jacob Jung, nicknamed "Boston George", was a major player in the cocaine trade in the United States in the 1970s and early 1980s. Jung is scheduled to be released from the Federal Correctional Institution in Anthony, Texas on the 27th of November, 2014.
Initially, George Jung started out selling drugs in the early 60s but later on developed strategies to smuggle cannabis from Mexico to the United States. After getting arrested for smuggling heroin and being sent to prison in 1974, he got introduced to the Medellín cartel and acted as the middle man of the Colombia-California connection. In 1994, he reconnected with his old Mexican marijuana smuggling partner and was once again arrested, this time carrying 1,754 pounds (796 kg) of marijuana in Topeka, Kansas.
After his release on November 27, 8 years of parole will follow. Jung will be 72 years old when getting out of the prison facility.
