The Delta Lloyd North Sea Regatta takes place today at Medemblik, the Netherlands. With the entry of more than 3000 sailers, the regatta is greater ever.

The North Sea Regatta was held for the first time in 1948. It was originally intended as a platform for sailors to show their arts and skills. It was then organized by the Scheveningse yacht club.

The organization is currently carried out by Foundation North Sea Regatta. The North Sea Regatta has now developed into the largest sailing event of Netherlands.
