Estonian Independence Day 2012

|
Estonia celebrates its 94th Independence day.
Estonians celebrate their self-proclaimed independence commemorating the day the nation initially laid its foundations. The country celebrates the declaration that was made by the Salvation Committee on February 21, 1918.
Established on February 19 1918, the committee, with its own central executive body, was formed upon the knowledge of retreating Russian forces and advancing Estonian forces during WWI.
The declaration itself was acknowledged only two days later following the official public announcement, which took place on the next day.
