Korea Open Badminton Championships was first organized back in 1991. The events motto has been since that year Love, Harmony, and Global Communication through Badminton.


Nowadays, the Korea Open is considered one of the top events of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) calendar.


The Championships sanctioned by BWF are Super Series Premier for five individual 5 events: Men's Singles, Women' Singles, Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles.


Korea has more than 1.35 million badminton players. It's national team is one of the leading Asian teams worldwide.
