The annual FIS Ski Jumping World Cup takes place today.

 

The annual FIS Ski Jumping World Cup pits the very best athletes the sport has to offer against each other, in a quest to become the world's number one.

Once again Kuusamo in Lapland has been chosen to host the opening of the 2011 World Cup.

 

Close to the Arctic circle and Russian border, Kuusamo is a natures lover's paradise in the summer, and in winter a snow lover's dream, a stunningly beautiful place.
