Mathematical and Computer Science Approaches to High Energy Density Physics

This workshop is intended to be a cross-cutting session that will focus on the fundamental modeling challenges that arise when simulating high energy density plasmas. We will consider methods for the simulation of the governing integro-differential equations that scale with problem size and are suitable for high-performance computing, including exa-scale and peta-scale platforms. One goal of the workshop is to make the modeling challenges accessible to applied mathematicians and computational scientists with little or no prior experience in plasma physics.
