The U.N. Human Rights Council appoints a human rights investigator concerning alleged human rights violations carried out by the Syrian government.
The U.N. Human Rights Council has rejected the calls to seek the involvement of the Security Council and the International Criminal Court.
The U.S. ambassador to the U.N., Susan Rice has praised the body’s toughness: “No nation has been the subject of more than one special session, let alone three, in such a short amount of time.”
