Leading European aircraft manufacturer Airbus presents the annual order and deliveries figures of its Commercial Airplanes segment.

Reuters reported on 3 January that Airbus is set to post sales of 900 aircraft in 2012 with delivery of 580, as against 1,339 planes sold by Boeing, its main competitor in the $100 billion aircraft market.


So far Airbus received $2.8 billion worth of orders for its new A350 plane, and the US holding company Commercial Investment Trust (CIT group) has placed orders for 253 Airbus planes.
