Today marks the anniversary of the Tahrir uprising that led to the ousting of Hosni Mubarak during the Egyptian Revolution in 2011. 


On January 25, 2011, a popular uprising on Tahrir Square marked the beginning of a series of protests against former President Hosni Mubarak. Millions of protesters took to the streets and faced severe retaliation from security forces loyal to Mubarak, leading to over 800 deaths and thousands of injured.
