Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper visits China by invitation of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

According to Chinese spokesman Liu Weimin, China is ready to engage with Canada on a political, economic and social front and is eager to enhance a sustainable relationship of mutual trust and strategic partnership.

According to Weimin, "the Chinese side attaches great importance to Prime Minister Harper's China visit."
