EC conference on global diabetes challenge

The European Commission take another initiative on health and well-being with focus on research and development on diabetes and obesity.

Specific attention will be given to "global initiatives on gene-environment interactions on diabetes/obesity in specific populations".

The conference brings together leading global scientists, national funding agencies, European and international policy makers and other key players in the field.

The current research framework program backed by the European Union supports a collective of major scientific projects to better understand and combat diabetes (type 2) with each project focusing on a specific world region.

Attendees will benefit from this innovative global approach through the exploration of new opportunities for even greater international cooperation and new strategic partnerships to tackle the issue.
