Tunisia hosts an international meeting on Syria of the "Friends of Syria". The meeting brings together nations who seek an agreement on how to end violence in Syria. Tunisian Foreign Minister Rafik Ben Adessalam said the meeting will be attended by Arab states as well as other states.

The Prime Minister of Qatar has said to welcome Tunisia's invitation for this international conference: "I think it will be a good opportunity to try to create a clear international direction to help the Syrian people to exit the crisis. We will work for this meeting to succeed".
