Ukulele stars of Thailand gather to show off their skills at this fascinating string instrument, in an event organized by Ribbee Boutique Ukulele Paradise.
The festival is an initiative of Asada, its founder. He began playing it in Hawaii and fell in love with the instrument ever since. On his return to Thailand, he made it his 10-year mission to find good quality ukuleles or 'tiny guitar', as they were called in the beginning.
Along the way, he gave up and opened his own shop, where he could produce and sell quality hand-made ukulele. His expansion has led to a national festival, which marks the establishment of a whole new movement.
