The Supreme Court of Pakistan holds a hearing in the case of Pakistan's Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani. Gilani is formally charged with contempt of court for failing to reopen a corruption investigation into the finances of Pakistan's President Asif Ali Zardari.
The hearing was initially planned for 28 February, but the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing after calling in the Cabinet Secretary Nargis Sethi as a witness in the court case.
As the hearing was already postponed one time before, Gilani's lawyer, Aitzaz Ahsan, has said in response to the latest adjournment that Gilani should be granted a chance to provide a complete defense of his actions.
Gilani has argued several times that the President has immunity from prosecution while in office, but the Supreme Court has said that Gilani as the Prime Minister of Pakistan has disobeyed the instructions given by the court.
The Supreme Court asked Gilani to write a letter to the Swiss authorities, asking them to reopen the investigation against Zardari. He is accused of laundering millions of dollars from the time his wife,
Benazir Bhutto, was Pakistan's Prime Minister in the 1990s.
