The EU budget framework for the period 2014 - 2020 is a subject of public hearing at the European Economic and Social Committee.
The hearing will be open by speeches of high European representatives responsible for the EU budget and further involve key stakeholders, the Committee of Regions, the Danish Council presidency, academics, and representatives from European civil society organizations.
The EESC's aim is to ensure that civil society takes part in negotiations on the EU budget in these economically challenging times. The results, opinions and feedback from this public hearing will be adopted by the EESC during its plenary session in March 2012.
