Angela Merkel holds a speech at the memorial service held in memory of those who fell victim to right-wing extremist violence.

The event seeks to commemorate victims while at the same time serving as an act of solidarity and cohesion against all forms of xenophobia and racial and nationalistic violence.

In the evening, Merkel welcomes government representatives of Ireland, Czech Republic and Latvia at the dinner at Schloss Meseberg.

Enda Kenny, Petr Necas and Valdis Dombrovskis have been invited for this informal meeting to exchange views on the economic and monetary future of the European Union.
