The world's largest gathering of energy ministers, the International Energy Forum, holds its session.
The IEF consists of 88 countries, like IEA and OPEC countries, but also includes key international players and transit states such as China, Russia, India, Brazil, Mexico and South Africa. The IEF countries account for around 90 percent of the world's oil and gas production and demand.
The Forum is an intergovernmental organization which serves as a neutral facilitator of the global energy dialogue between its member states. It provides an opportunity for the IEF Ministers and officials, energy industry executives and other experts to enter into an open and informed dialogue, which is vital to the security of global energy.
