The Arab League summit takes place to discuss the current developments in, and relations between, the member states. 


The Arab League currently consist of 21 countries, after Syria was suspended form the league due to excessive violence during the Arab Spring.


Its purpose it to 'draw closer the relations between member states and co-ordinate collaboration between them, to safeguard their independence and sovereignty, and to consider in a general way the affairs and interests of the Arab countries'. 


The main objective of the summit is to ensure that the league is fulfilling its purpose.
