The International Prize for Arabic Fiction is awarded for the best Arabic-written prose fiction. It is one of the most prestigious literary prizes in the Arab world.
The event is managed by five judges who are appointed every year by an independent board of trustees from both from within and outside of Arab world.
The purpose of the prize is to recognize and reward excellence in contemporary Arabic literature. It also aims to encourage the translation of Arabic fiction into other major languages and by that, increase the readership of quality Arabic literature.
The Prize is organized with the support of the Booker Prize Foundation in London and the Emirates Foundation for Philanthropy of Abu Dhabi.
