The Miss Universe Organization has allowed the transgender Jenna Talackova to participate in the 61 edition of the pageant on the condition she meets all the legal gender recognition requirements in Canada.
The announcement came after the organisation was accused of homophobia and just before Jenna was about to have her meeting with a high-profile feminist attorney.
When Talackova was disqualified for being transgender, social media users began a petition against their decision and managed to get 41,000 signatures.
Jenna claims she knew she was a girl at the age of 4 and she commenced her transformation into a woman with a hormone therapy when she was 14 years old.
