The Karachi Transporter Ittehad holds a strike as a protest to raised prices of petroleum products and natural gas.
By 8.2 percent raise, the petrol price crossed the 'psychological barrier' of 100 rupees.
The transporters from across the country not only demand decreased prices, but also a compensation for their burnt buses.
The strike is supported by the Karachi traders. The Karachi Traders Union threaten to stop paying taxes and utility bills unless the full raise in fuel prices is withdrawn.
According to the president of Ittehad, the strike might continue for an indefinite period of time.
