The Pulitzer is awarded annually for great achievements in literature, online and newspaper journalism as well as musical composition.


Twenty of the winners will receive a certificate and $10,000 in cash. 


The award was founded by the Hungarian-American publisher Joseph Pulitzer in 1917.
