Myanmar's democratic leader Aung San Sun Kyi leaves her country for the first time in 24 years on an official visit  to the UK.


Ms. Suu Kyi, who is also a Nobel Laureate was under house arrest for the period Burma was governed by a military junta.


During the parliamentary by-election on 1 April her party won 43 out of the 45 seats and elected her as their leader.


Aung San will pay a visit to Norway as well.
