The group meets due to the country's political unrest caused by the escalation of violence by the recently revived Al Qaeda.
The objective of the meeting is to appeal to the international community for the support of the Yemeni governmental reforms, which started after the election of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi in February. The president was elected under a plan crafted by the Gulf Cooperation Council with a US backing.
"The recent deterioration of political cooperation in Yemen is concerning and we call upon all groups to engage constructively in transition," Britain's Foreign Office stated.
The meeting will include Gulf and European states and the United States.
