Movie-buffs all over the world celebrate their ultimate favourite Star Wars films and their cultural significance.
This day is also referred to as Luke Skywalker Day, after the main character of the original trilogy (4,5 and 6 episode). In relation to this and the sci-fi catch-phrase 'May the Force be with you' many fans exchange the saying 'May the fourth be with you' on the day.
Star Wars enthusiasts gathered for the first time in 2011 in Toronto, Ontarioa, Canada to establish this globally known day. At this event, fans were involved in costume contests with celebrity judges, original trilogy Game shows and mash-ups. Parodies and tribute features are being also screened during the festivities.
