On the night of the Tony Award, Hugh Jackman and Actors' Equity Association receive the Special Tony Award.
One of the other non-competitive awards, the Isabelle Stevenson Award, is given to Bernadette Peters
The American Theatre Wing and the Broadway league honour outstanding performances in live Broadway theatre with the annual Tony Awards.
The Tony Award, which was established in 1947, is named after Antoinette Perry, an actress, producer, director and co-creator of the American Theatre Wing, who passed away in 1946.
The award is considered to be the biggest US theatre recognition, equal in its status to the Oscars for films and the Laurence Olivier Award for West End performances in the UK.
