All-time-favourite actor and dancer Gene Kelly is recognised posthumously on his 100 birthday by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.


The two night celebration of the Singin' in the Rain performer is hosted by his widow, film historian Patricia Ward Kelly.


Gene Kelly was born under the name Eugene Curran Kelly on 23 August 1912 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
