Qantas axes 400 jobs, 600 more on the line -

Australian airline Qantas cuts at least 400 jobs from one of its maintenance bases, Avalon, Tullamarine or Queensland. Another 660 jobs are on the line. 


Without major government investment, both the Tullamarine and Avalon bases could be at risk of closure.
