Microsoft discontinues Window Live brand -
Microsoft's Headquarters in Redmond, WA

Although some services will still use the live.com domain, Microsoft's Window Live brand is renamed to the simple Microsoft account.


The company believes that the Microsoft Accounts will have a better connected set of online consumer services.


The brand is discontinued before the launch of Windows 8.
