NATO representatives meet with some of the largest anti-NATO protest groups for an unprecedented public debate.
According to Andy Thayer, one of the organizers of the Coalition Against the NATO/ G8 and Poverty Agenda, those opposing the summit finally "get to have a public forum where we are able to convince our fellow residents of this city just how bad and nasty an institution NATO is".
Nonetheless, NATO's secretary general Anders Fogh Rasmussen promises NATO's "public diplomacy people are reaching out to these groups."
