RIM begin laying off around 2000 employees within the coming few weeks as part of their restructuring program.
Creators of the Blackberry smart devices, RIM has more than 16,500 employees worldwide.
This is the second round of layoffs this year as RIM are struggling in a more competitive market with their sales having dipped more drastically in recent months.
