Joan Miro's Peinture (Étoile Bleue) goes on auction at the Sothebys auction house. The painting is expected to fetch up to £20m.


The Catalan painter sculptor and ceramicist Joan Miro (April 20, 1893 – December 25, 1983), is considered an exponent of surrealism. However, from 1930s onwards Miro started expressing his contempt for conventional painting methods and developed a more personal and highly original style.
