Jetstar Hong Kong becomes operational -

Jetstar Hong Kong, the budget airline being formed by China Eastern Airlines and Qantas, becomes operational with an initial fleet of three Airbus A320’s. This fleet will increase to 18 by 2015.

The startup is expected to promote and provide growth opportunities for inbound tourism between Hong Kong and Australia.

China Eastern has not yet determined if Jetstar Hong Kong will operate into mainland China.
