Deadline for Jamaicans to submit minimum wage proposal

Until 2 July, members of the Jamaican public can submit written recommendations on whether the National Minimum Wage and the Minimum Wage for Industrial Security Guards should be increased.
The Minimum Wage Advisory Commission, the body that oversees the process, expects proposals to contain a clear decision and an indication of the level of the increase of those wages.
Several of the people submitting a proposal will be asked to appear before the commission to support their proposed recommendations.
Since 2011 the National Minimum Wage has increased both for the general public and for industrial security guards.
