Nelson Mandela's copy of the Complete Works of Shakespeare, which includes notes added by Mandela and other prisoners while serving their sentence at Robben Island jail, goes on display in the British Museum.
The edition, dubbed the Robben Island Bible, will be a part of an exhibition celebrating the great writer, entitled "Shakespeare: Staging the World", which is a part of the World Shakespeare Festival.
The book was smuggled into jail by Mandela's fellow prisoner Sonny Venkatrathnam and was disguised as a Hindu religious book to trick the prison guards.
Mandela's favorite passage from Julius Ceasar includes lines: "Cowards die many times before their deaths/The valiant never taste of death but once".
