The Japanese Nissan Motor Corp is expanding its sales in the biggest auto market in the world by investing $800 million into building a new factory in China.
The production capacity of the factory is expected to reach 150,000 vehicles by 2014 and increase even further to 300,000 in the future.
Once completed, the new factory will be Nissan's fourth manufacturing centre in the country. The company has also promised to produce 1000 electric Venucia cars together with its Chinese joint venture.
In 2011 Nissan launched a $8 billion plan to concentrate on faster-growing emerging markets in order to limit its reliance on the US. Plans include to bring 30 new models to the market by 2015 and build even more factories in Brazil, Southern Asia, Russia and India.
