The UN World Aids Day is an annual returning event to honor the victims of the AIDS pandemic and focus attention on the prevention and treatment of HIV and AIDS related conditions.
Started on 1st December 1988, World AIDS Day is about raising money for further research, increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and improving education.
International symbol of AIDS awareness is the wearing of the red ribbon by people all over the world, especially on World AIDS Day.
According to UNAIDS estimates, there are now 33.3 million people living with HIV, including 2.5 million children. The vast majority of people with HIV and AIDS live in lower- and middle-income countries, were education levels regarding the acquisition and treatment of the deceases are often poorly.
