The NHL and the NHL Players' Association are set to resume labor talks at the league offices in New York.
Total division of revenue of the league's operations is the biggest friction point, creating a standoff between players who are demanding their cut and owners declining their requests.
The two sides met already on July 13, in another round of negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement before the current one expires on Sept. 15.
If an agreement is not reached, a 2004-2005 scenario is possible, leading to a shutdown of the league.
