Burmese opposition leader Suu Kyi makes first Japan visit in 27 years

Myanmar's opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi visits Japan for the first time since 1986.
According to Japanese government sources, preparations have been made for a bilateral meeting between the country's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and the Burmese leader.
Suu Kyi was invited to the country by Japanese Foreign Minister Koichiro Genba during his visit to Myanmar last December.
Since being sworn in as a member of the national parliament, she has travelled to Europe and the US, receiving the highest decorations such as the Nobel Peace Prize and the American Congressional Gold Medal.
