Jersey church decides on hosting same-sex ceremonies

Jersey's United Reform Church decides whether it will allow same sex couples to register civil partnerships in its premises.
Should the move be approved, it will make the church the very first religious premises to perform gay ceremonies on the island.
"The wider church has actually said no minister would be required to conduct such services and no church to host it. [...] While the wider church has made that decision, the local church will actually have to decide for itself whether it is prepared to host such marriages," said Reverend Patrick McManus.
The wider church became the first Christian faith to allow gay couples' registered civil partnerships.
