Quads day is an annual event that was first introduced in Iran by the founding father of the Islamic revolution Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979, and is organized to express solidarity with the Palestinian people, opposing to Zionism as well as Israel’s control of Jerusalem.


In recent years, Quds Day is also commemorated in several countries in the Arab and Muslim world with protests against the Israeli settlements of East Jerusalem.
