Michelle Obama meets families of Sikh shooting victims

The First Lady is expected to visit the Sikh community in Wisconsin and meet with the families of the temple shooting victims.
When hearing about Michelle Obama's visit, Rajwant Singh, chairman of the Sikh Council, said ", It is great to hear that the first lady will be comforting the families devastated by the violence in the Sikh gurdwaras motivated by hate." He then added ", A visit by the first lady will be reassuring and heartening and it will be powerful symbol of President Obama embracing the Sikhs at this serious juncture."
The shooting took place on 5 August in Wisconsin's Oak Creek, about 19 kilometres south of Milwaukee. The gunman, later identified as Wade Michael Page, was found dead at the scene. The reason for his deadly actions are unknown, however, it has been recently revealed that he held a criminal record and took part in white supremacy groups.
The funerals took place in mid August.
