Apple and the US-based Fair Labor Association (FLA) are to have completed their 15-month 'action plan' by July 1.
Following several suicides at its Chinese Foxconn plants, Apple asked the FLA to investigate the working conditions of the 178,000 employees who work at its factories.
Together, the FLA and Apple devised a 15-month action plan to incorporate several changes and improve conditions at the plants. Amongst the changes to have been implemented are health breaks and measures against repetitive stress injury.
Foxconn also produces electronics for Sony and Hewlett-Packard.
