Vestas is set to cut another 1,400 jobs September 2012 - March 2013 Worldwide

Danish wind turbine firm Vestas is set to lay off 1,400 workers in preparation for a slowdown in demand next year. The move comes after the company has already announced it would cut 2,335 jobs in 2012.
After it cut the forecasts of shipment for this year, the company expects even tougher times next year.
"The further reduction in the workforce is part of the continued cost saving plans which Vestas has been working on since November 2011," said Vestas chief executive Ditlev Engel.
Details about the specific jobs that will be cut are expected to be released after discussions with the unions end. The locations, however, are already known as Vestas stated it expected about 55 percent of the job cuts to be made in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, 25 percent in the Asia Pacific region, and 20 percent in the Americas.
